Fort Mac and Back; A van life adventure

It’s a cloudy day in Ontario. Josh and I are driving along the 400 series highway south past Gravenhurst listening to a Joe Rogan podcast. I’ve been telling myself for the past couple days that I should be writing a blog post about our trip so far, but keep getting distracted. My thoughts instantly go…

Changes

These past couple of months for me, have included a lot of noticeable changes. Knowing what you want for yourself and learning how to balance the changes with your regular lifestyle is a powerful feeling. Notice I didn’t say it was easy? Because it certainly isn’t. But what great change ever came easily?

That’s Life

Life isn’t just one step away from everything you’re dreaming of. It’s a million steps forward, with probably hundreds, strike that, thousands of steps back along the way. It’s not giving up on your dream, or letting other people’s ideas of what your life should look like get you down. It’s about taking action, one small step at a time and moving forward to what lights you up.

A Musical High

“A Dream That’s Not Followed, Is A Dream That Is Lost”. Those are lyrics that Josh & I wrote for a song, on an EP released back in 2015. It was not only the title track of that EP but it was the hook for the song’s chorus as well.  As I type it out…

F#@K Facebook

That’s right, I said it. I’m tired. I have stresses. I worry. Lately Facebook (in my experience) has done nothing but multiply those feelings X 2.    Or by 20 some days. Why am I adding to it by mindlessly scrolling through to read about everyone else’s issues, bad days, upsetting news updates and endless…

A Writer Writes, Always!

This is something I have been saying to myself for years. It gives me that subtle kick in the rear when said aloud. As if the phrase itself is a boot camp teacher pushing me to sweat it out. Even though it is somewhat impossible…I mean I can’t be writing at all times every day,…

Holi-daze

Merry Christmas Bitches! Does that get you in the holiday spirit? Okay, maybe not so much…but it kind of sort of works for me! What can I say, I guess I am 20% “Grinch” and 80% Ho, Ho, Holy Shit let’s celebrate. Does that even make sense? I definitely wouldn’t call myself jolly… When the Christmas…

The Travelling Kind

It’s early November, in Ontario Canada. Which means, for me that my (almost) yearly trip to the Ontario Motor Coach Association is either happening soon or just past.  You see, one of the many hats that I wear is called “Director of Operations” for a family owned business called “Group Tours To Go Inc.”…

The Monday Struggle

Everyone knows it…it comes once a week, and is loathed by almost all of us. The Monday struggle is real AF. As fall winds up and winter peaks it’s bastard head around the corner these so called Mondays get a little harder for me. Maybe because now that the grass is sparkly with frost, it’s…

Watching the traffic go by…

A picture says a thousand words right? There I am (image above) looking all young, care free, at peace with nature.  A picture that was taken a long time ago but still resonates with me today. Now, in my 30’s I look at this picture and think, how can I get back to that…
